Rock driveway

We are considering expanding our drive and taking out the asphalt and making the whole thing rock , we have a long drive and with the expansion it seems to be much cheaper to replace with rock

However our home is on a slight incline and we live in an area that gets snow
Will the incline cause the rock to constantly fall to the street?
How do you shovel or snow plow a rock drive way with out making a mess of the rock and scattering it everywhere ?

Basically, You don't.

Different areas have different names for the same gravel that is the best choice for a driveway. In my area its called crusher run. Its small pieces of gravel with cement fines that lock the whole thing together. Sort of.

As far as the snow removal goes, Its best to leave the first snow on the driveway to freeze the rocks into place. Then on subsequent snowfalls, the blade on the plow is up an inch or two.

After all this, you will still find rocks on the grass in the spring. Its the nature of the beast.
