retaining wall

My husband is building a circular retaining wall using Versa Lok blocks. The wall is on the corner of our house and we are going to use it to landscape. The corner of the house slopes down that is why we chose to build a wall so the corner will be flat. The wall will be about 4-5 feet tall and about 7-8 feet in diameter. He laided crushed stone as a base and is filling in behind the wall with the crushed stone. He also put the fabric over the fill to hold it away from the wall. He didn't put in drainage tile and we are now wondering if he should tear down the wall and put one in. Is is necessary or will we be ok? Any information will help. Thanks
