Removing English Ivy residue from aluminum siding

Wife had finally decided to let me remove the English Ivy from the flower beds adjacent to the house. I have the Ivy out and the tendrils removed from under the siding, now how do I remove the adhesive that the Ivy uses to attach itself to the siding?
