We bought our house in Beach Haven, NJ a year ago. In the front yard, which is commonly used for parking in surrounding areas, there are 3 short pilings. I think they are either decorative, or were used to prevent people from parking in the front of the house (there is a side driveway as well). Does anyone from the area, or somewhere else where this is common, have any experience with these?
We are thinking about digging them up in order to increase the space for cars. Is there a good reason for them that we are overlooking? Who would we check with to make sure there is no larger and better reason for these pilings?
Also, if we do decide to dig them up, what depth should we expect them to be buried (if they are decorative)?
The people on this site could be from any place in the world,
Even if they were from across the street how will would anyone know with out being able to at least see them?
Help us out here post a picture.
No telling how deep they are until you dig them up.
