Rain bird cg 6 leaking problems

I bought my house brand new 7 years ago. The sprinkler system worked fine. Then about 4 years ago the control panel would say the system was running but no water would be coming out. So I would manually turn the knob on the outside and it would turn on the sprinklers which worked up until about 1 1/2 years ago when my mother in law said she twisted the smaller knobs on the main valve. So for over a year now my bottom two sprinklers (my front yard is sloped) and the main valve leak water constantly. Can anyone help me with this leak? If I can get back working normally that would be great but my main concern is the waste of water. Thanks all.

Rain bird cg 6 leaking problems

Didn't you post this same question last week? Hoping for different answers?

Have you tried opening those manual hex bolts on the valves. Opening them should bypass the solenoid. If the o-rings on either the solenoid or these manual valve overrides are broken they could cause leaks. If the override screw has worked loose it good be letting water through the valve.

Unless I am seeing something wrong, those valves look like they have a fair amount of mineral deposits. You may have to rebuild them (kits are not expensive).

No the answer was fine I just was waiting for your response to my pics and I wasn't sure which one was the override screw. I re posted it because my original showed your first response 3 times do I thought I'd re post with the pics. No disrespect. I don't think it's mineral deposit but I'll double check, I think it's paint because I remember it always looking like that.

Also I turned off the water supply ( at least I think I did) it was located about a 18" under ground about 6' down ( towards the road) and 6' over. Just had a normal looking faucet handle, but water is still coming out. Could there be a problem growing there too?

You know, so many hands on some clearly not knowing what they were doing, have touched this system it will probably save you lots of aggravation to call a landscape plumber to sort all this out for you. It is hard to know what is happening even with pictures and not seeing how the valves are connected to the water supply, etc.

Ok I tweaked with the hex bolt you pointed at and the leaking has stopped. Now I'll check on the controller to see if I can get it running and turn the master water back on. Thanks I appreciate the advise.

Check this link out:
http://www.rainbird.com/documents/di...otingGuide.pdf

Valve seeping is either normally caused by the solenoid seat, the solenoid or dirt in the valve on top of the diaphragm not allowing the valve to sit properly..
