Pre-emergent

I realize it's not quite spring yet, but when's the right time for pre-emergent weed killer. I'm in the mid-Atlantic MD, DC, VA

Pre-emergent

You obviously want the PRE-EMERGANT on BEFORE the soil is warm enough for seeds (crabgrass, weeds, etc) to germinate. A rule of thumb is to watch the Forsythia bushes in your area. When they start to bloom, the soil is getting warm enough for seeds to germinate so it's time to get it applied.
