Porous driveway installation on a grade?

The house my wife and bought had a driveway taken out by the previous owners and elevated landscaping put in where it was. There are some drainage issues, so I'd like to use gravel with a stability grid if possible. The house is in an urban setting and there already is a ramp over the sidewalk, so I'd really like to have some off-street parking. The lot is elevated about 2 -2 1/2 ft above the sidewalk where the entrance was. The length of the drive is only going to be 25 ft, so I'm not sure how to cover the elevation change.

I'm having a hard time visualizing your description. Can you post a picture or two?

I agree with the previous reply. I cannot visualize what you are talking about, please post some pics of the area from different angles. Thanks!
