planting soysia grass

I live in Iowa and half of my lawn is soysia. I LOVE IT! My question is how to get the rest of the lawn the same?
I have tried using very small plugs from the exciting grass but it didn't take. What did I do wrong? Anyone who has this knows how hard it is to get a plug out of it. Any advice would be loved.

You might be better off buying plugs next year when it's time to plant them. They would probably take better than ones you cut out of your existing lawn.

For sure. You might look into sod although the plugs will probably establish as fast.

You have to prep where you are planting them like you would for a seed, sod or any other turfgrass sort of planting. You cannot just plug them into unprepared soil and expect a lot!
