Planting noise/wind break trees
 
here is why you need to plant them deep as possible,i planted these in 91'at $5 each with trunks the diameter of my index finger and they took off.90' tall in 2011 with 14" trucks rising up :thumbsup: the IRENE hit at :mad: 75MPH with full leaves and down they went..thank GOD:wink: they went the lenght of my yard and not left to right ....would of taken a garage out at 1000lbs easy..still cutting wood for the neighbors...these were 4' deep didn't even hear them going http://i275.photobucket.com/albums/j...4/MVC-016S.jpg http://i275.photobucket.com/albums/j...4/MVC-015S.jpg

Ayuh,... I think the species of tree, 'n types of soils have alot more to do with it, than how deep ya plant 'em...

Bury the bark, 'n most trees die...

What kinda trees were they,..??

Seems to me, the quickest growin' are the soonest to fall...

poplars can only go down 3 feet i get water 100' off the great south bay south shore of Long Island...did a great job shading the western sunonto the back of the house... in the summer after 1pm...
