I want to plant something in my front walkway between the garage foundation and the concrete walkway. Also in the side yards next to the house. I'm worried about drainage, since the previous owner buried the foundation in one of the side yards past 6" code and the concrete wicked the rainwater in. I've since dug all that out, including a brick patio that was buried (ugh!). What should I plant or should I just put drainage gravel next to the foudation?
I had some ideas, but can't decide. We have water issues in Arizona, so I need something draught-hardy, but not cactus. NO NORE CACTUS. :D

well you got to look at the roots system of the type of whatever you want to place there you dont want anything with a shallow wide root system cuz it will tare apart that foundation you might want to look into something with a deep narrow root system depending on how close you are planning to put it to the house.
