Plant ID

We've got several areas of our yard where this stuff is growing really well and we really like it and would like to get more. It's dense, we find it visually appealing and it keeps the weeds out wherever it grows. Unfortunately, we don't know what it is. I'm assuming it would spread naturally, but we'd like to give it some "help" and plant from more from seeds (if available) or get some plants locally.

Thanks!

My you have lovely poison ivy!!

Just kidding.

I have no idea and if nobody else does either, this is a link for the USDA website where you might be able to find your plant.

That's Aegopodium, aka 'bishop's weed. It is very aggressive and will spread rapidly. You can dig up clumps/divisions in the fall to spread it around or just buy more.

Weird, I tried to reply and I guess it didn't work.

Thanks for the info! I will do some more research now that I know what it's called. We live in the woods and not much grows here that we consider appealing, except for these little patches of the Bishops weed. A low maintenance groundcover would be nice. :)
