pink cherokee chief dogwood tree

I have a 5'-6' dogwood that I planted last February and it did well in '09. My dogwood responded poorly to the springin '10, the blooms came late and were minimal at best. Now, the leaves which are larger at the bottom of the treethan at the top, are beginning to wilt. Should I tansplant or ? Please assist me on this matter.

I would not transplant it when it's sick. The shock might finish it off.

Sound like possible root damage--You are not over watering it,are you?

To much fertilizer can burn the roots, too.

Some one more knowledgeable will jump in soon.---Mike--
