Pear Tree question
Planted a small 5' pear tree last summer. it was on clearance at one of the home centers, so wasn't expecting much for my $10 purchase. I was shocked this spring when it was covered with blooms, and even more shocked to see dozens of little walnut sized pears growing so soon.
Now the tree is covered with fig sized pears, so much so that it's starting to make the young branches sag. I am worried that the branches may snap due to the extra weight, so I have pruned about 1/3 of them off, and pruned the tree a little. I am amusing that anything left won't be edible, so I am wondering if i should leave it be, or cut them all off and see what next year yeilds. thanks
