Paverstone Outdoor Bar area

Recently a large quantity of 4"x8" paver stone have been made available to me, roughly 2000 stones. I plan on using roughly 800 for a 12'x16' paver patio area. Since I have roughly 1200 left over I am thinking of making an outdoor kitchen/bar/firepit/fireplace area.

My plan is to make the structure out of treated lumber and then stack the pavers on the outside of the frame. I would use concrete or mortar as a binder between the stones, and also use those straps every 5 rows of stones to attach them to the frame. The "countertop" (if I opt for the kitchen or bar design) would be either slate tile that I have copious amounts of, or some granite slabs that I have access too.

Does this sound feasible or am I just pipe dreaming?
