pavers over concrete

I have glued pavers to my concrete sidewalk using landscape adhesive, I applied locking sand between the pavers which are less than 1/8" apart, the sand washes out after each rain, my question is do I need anything between the pavers to keep it from freezing and breaking out this winter?

The pavers need to move under freeze/thaw conditions, I'm sure you will be fine. I don't know how something between the pavers will keep anything from freezing.
