Pavers and mason sand

We salvaged some pavers from a demolition site, to make a small area for a picnic table, and have some mason sand left over from an addition that we built over the past couple of years. I know that this is not the right sand for this application, but rather than leaving it in a covered pile indefinitely, or burying it, are there any reasons that it won't work under the pavers? No vehicle traffic in this area of the yard. Thank you.

I would say that the sand you ahve is okay provided it is not so fine it resembles mud when wet.

Pavers and mason sand

Thank you, Allan; that makes sense. If the snow ever leaves, we'll uncover it, and experiment a bit, to see how water affects it.
