Paver walkway, gas meter in the way

Check out the picture so you can reference what I'm trying to say.

I've already dug out the rocks and marked where my walkway is going however the gas meter is right in the mix of it all. I was thinking of coming straight from the edge of the gate up to the gas meter then just go around the pipe that goes into the ground then resume my normal line. Any suggestions or am I thinking clearly?

I did a quick MSpaint job to further indicate the lines of the walkway and the red will represent where the pavers will go around the pipe.

Cheers,

Ken

Plastic pipe would work fine for a sleeve. You should be able to cut the sleeve vertically and then spread the sleeve around the gas pipe.
