Outside Drainage

Hello. I am going to be removing some bushes, new porch, new driveway, etc this summer so it would be the perfect time to correct the gutters I have. The current gutters I have are not sloppered properly, Water collects in them, and then the downspout always overflow (the go into the ground). This is a house that was build in 1960 so there is probably cast iron underground. What I would like to do is to put up new gutters since I will be expanding the front porch, run drain pipes into a dry well in the front of the house and back of the house. I would also like to install a French drain around the entire house... With the French drain, do I have to run that as well to a dry well? I have been doing a lot of research. I saw where I can take PVC pipe and drill my own holes into it, but then I saw Lowes has this already available and they also have pipe available that is wrapped in a sponge like material for French drains. What is the best method of running the French drains? Should it run into the same drywell?

Do you have anywhere you can drain your rainwater to just by using gravity? Meaning is there anywhere on your property that's lower than the area around your house? Some pics would be helpful.

It's difficult to tell in the pic, but does your yard slope slightly downward towards the street? If so that's where I'd be sending all your unwanted rainwater.

Here downspouts now have to drain out over the property and cannot go into underground drains of any kind because of the load on the sewer system. Are you sure it is legal where you are?
