Outdoor Lighting

I currently have a set of wired walkway lights leading up to the front door. When I replace them, should I go with solar or another wired set of lights?

Has anyone had luck with solar lights?

Do they die quickly?

Do they illuminate the sidewalk just as well?

solar LED lights have come a long way. i have a set that is 4 or 5 years old now, still light up through most of the night. In most of them you can swap out the rechargable batteries when they no longer hold a charge .

just depends on what you like, and your budget....

It mainly depends on if you really want light or just a glow. Solar powered lights are significantly dimmer than powered lighting. Also when it's colder outside the batteries don't last anywhere near as long, considered you're in New York that's a major consideration.
