Our Backyard Pond Video
We have a koi pond that we built in 1997. I just wanted a small pond
a place where we could plant more plants and flowers cascading
over rocks. But, the head guy around here had other ideas.
In 1998 we added another section to the pond called the Dog Leg,
and in 1998 we added a 200 biological pond at the end of the rose garden.
The Biological pond feeds the main pond via underground plumbing.
It's a DIY gravity fed system, with a bottom drain.
We love our pond. The head knot is an avid gardener and gets a lot of pleasure from the pond
and is always moving things around.
Here is a video. The koi are 14 years old and 2 foot long.
There have been many koi babies born in our pond.
this one shows a bit of the bio pond waterfaLL in the back, it is located 18 feet
away from the main pond.
This is the Dog Leg, it's 6 ft wide x 13 ft long. It gives the koi a lot
more swimming room...(Koi love to swim) It also gave the pond
an interesting shape, like an irregular horseshoe.
