Ornamental Grasses - please help

I found a picture of some ornamental grasses close by and I would like to get some for my garden. They are about 3 to 4 feet tall and get puffy plumes in late October/ early november. I have been searching around the internet but cant seem to find what kind they are. Does anyone know? The blades seem to always be tan in color. The picture I have included was taken in September.

Just make sure you get the ornamental grasses that are winter
hardy for your area.

Once a long time ago I bought two gorgeous red ones -- at half price
in September...as soon as frost hit, they died...
It wasn't a such a bargain after all.

I have heard such grass referred to by several names: Pampas Grass, Elephant Grass, Tiger Grass, or, simply, ornamental grass.

I have a variety that I believe is zebra grass:

Grows about 6 ft tall and has nice tassles in the fall, through the winter.

I think, however, the best advice is from chrisn. Check out your local nursery.
