Nuisance mushrooms.. help!!

In my yard I use to have grass in this little area where I now have gotten rid of the grass and weeds, put down weed killer; anchored some mesh tarp down and topped off with a good amount of mulch. Has been great for a year, but have now noticed tiny mushrooms here and there and they are becoming a pain to pick when I see them. My question is: Is there anything I can spray or put down to kill them that isn't poisonous to dogs? Thanks

These darn shrooms are starting to piss me off!
I spent a lot of money to have my beautiful lawn & within weeks I developed a mushroom issue.
I was watering everyday at 1st then dropped it to every other day because I was told that thats a sign of too much watering & I do belive it because I have a puddle in the back yard with mushrooms growing from it & around it..
So the amount of water seems to have a direct connection. ( At least here at my house in Los Angeles )

I got some fungus control & have used it many times now & nothing.
It almost seems to be feeding them.
the bag is suppose to cover 5000 sq ft. & my yard is only about 900 sq ft & I've finished the bag in my 3rd application today.
& I pulling my hair out wondering what the best answer to this?
I want to fertilize my new lawn but dont wanna feed the fungus.
Oh & in my yard its not just shrooms, it also gross patches of fungus.
I'll start another tread on that though.
