New Yard
Hey everyone - I built a house this past summer and the yard is off to a very good start - There are some small bare spots - but nothing major. I was wondering if it would be better to fertilize really well or reseed this spring and really water it again? Any help would be great - thanks a lot.

New Yard
Snow--
Wait a bit yet until the temperature averages at least 60-65 degrees. Loosen the soil in the bare spots...about 2-3" deep....spread a good quality grass seed and water really well. Follow that with an application of starter fertilizer and water, water, water |

i agree, with new seed water is more important than fertilizer. make sure it gets wet EVERYDAY for the first 3-4 weeks. you don't have to deep soak, since there are little or no roots at this stage, just spray it down

Wait until it's a little warmer. Don't want to go to all that trouble only to have the grass not take. Good luck!
