new grass

I scraped about 3 inches off the backyard last fall, installed underground sprinklers, and planted new grass,. It is coming up nicely due to the unseasonably warm winter. I was just wondering what I should be putting on it now. I was afraid to put something on it and harm it with this being it's first season. I am also starting to see a few weeds. thanks
