I'm in SE Michigan... All the other trees have leaves but not a mulberry tree we have. We mean to take it down because it's right next to the driveway, but if it died that makes it a little higher priority.
Last August we had another maple fall, it hit some of the mulberry tree branches which I cut off, if that makes for any difference as to the likelihood the tree is dead. I hadn't expected it though because I've heard they can start growing new branches practically even from a stump. (maybe a slight exageration, but I got the impression they weren't that easy to kill)
Please do NOT consider any "before" picture of my house as any kind of endorsement of any particular construction method. In fact, you should probably assume that if I post a "before" picture, I am posting it because I am soliciting advice on a proper replacement for one of MANY things done wrong by a previous owner.
