MTD yard machine lawn mower

I can't get it to start. The carborator isn't getting fuel. I replaced the fuel line and filter and the solenoid on the bottom of the carb. It will start if a put a few drops of fuel into the carb.

Make sure the choke is not stuck. Sometimes debris can get in there and the linkage will get stuck.

So you're not getting gas TO the carb, or not getting gas THROUGH the carb?

If you're not getting gas TO the carb, it should be pretty easy to diagnose & fix.

If you ARE getting gas to the carb, there's a good chance you've got dirt in the bottom of the bowl, and it is plugging your jet. The fix for that is also relatively simple.

That solenoid that is in the bottom of the carb bowl, can you see the plunger going back and forth while cranking with the bowl down? I think this solenoid is a fuel pump, but not sure. I had a similar problem and replacing the "pump" cured it.
