mole problem

What can i do about moles. Our yard has many mole trails. Is there something to rid them without using poison or spring traps that impale the mole? thanks

Smoke perhaps. Likely to be a temporary solution though. I am impressed you want to cause them no harm but they are moles and are harming your landscape. Forcing them out an on to your neighbors may not be taken kindly.

Are the moles or voles by the way?

Need to figure out if there moles or voles.
If there moles you can get rid of them by using insect killer on your lawn.
It kills the grubs below ground that they eat.

Is the only difference between moles and voles is that moles are blind?

I have an issue right now in my window well.. 3ft down whatever it is, has burrowed beneath the window well (on the side away from the house) I can see evidence of it when I peer into the well.
These are not tiny droppings left behind either. Any one have suggestions as to what it may be? Do squirrels really exhibit this behavior or am I doomed to find more of a grotesque rodent?

Burning Sulfur and a Weed Torch is what we used in the orchards.

You could see the sulfur fumes venting out of the ground up to a hundred feet away.

Voles can be underground or surface pests. Moles are underground dwellers.

Not sure what animal excrement you are seeing. Sounds if noticeably large, you may have something like a groundhog on your hands. They are to be reckoned with because they can hollow out huge dens under garage and basement floors, ultimately leading to floor collapse in extreme instances.
