looking for shade

Our home has a great view, but at certain times of the day in the sonoma area it gets pretty hot. I want to get shade on the elevated deck. I don't want an umbrella nor a retractable awing. (can't do that anyway). I know there are other options that are easy and work well. Just not experienced enough with product about today. Got any ideas?

looking for shade

u may want to try a tall and full potted plant. they can be moved from side to side of your deck to adjust for the sun movement this way u can put the shade any where you want it to be especially not in your eyes and they can be moved on cooler days in order to not disrupt your view

It would have to be big as the deck is big. not a bad idea though. It would be a struggle to move on a deck with 1/4" between the boards w/o large wheels.
