Lilacs

we've got several Lilac trees in the yard. unfortunately, the "shoots" from those trees are coming right through the landscape fabric we laid down under the crushed stone to forestall such things. now we're taking up all that stone and spreading some nicer stone. since we'll be putting down new landscape fabric, any tips on what we can do to hold down those "shoots"?

tnx,

Got some left over shingles laying around?
Landscape fabric or even Geo cloth is not going to stop them.

Nothing is going to stop them..not a deck ..not bricks ..nothing They will just wind there way to the surface. Just plan on trimming them up once a season

Lilacs, if they are doing well, require lots of attention and fairly severe pruning including cutting those water shoots off at first appearance.
