First of all, even if it were spring or summer, your grass would likely not be germinated yet. But it's fall, the temps are cooler, and the days are shorter. In other words, keep it moist and wait another week.
What's going to happen is that, all of the sudden, one day your going to see grass. You'll be surprised because it will seem to appear out of nowhere.
Regarding mowing... I wouldn't mow. It's late season. Let the new grass take hold a little better, then mow in the spring.
