Lawn help

Moss took over one side of my lawn. Any advice?

Bob Mariani 03-21-2012 05:20 AM

moss killer and a lot of lime

Too much lime will wack your PH! You will create unfavorable growing conditions and have to correct it.

Get the soil tested before anything.

Joe,

Do you work for Scotts? How much are they paying you?

Thanks everyone. To me Scotts would be the easy way out, even if i buy a new spreader.

And if the system fails, keep the photos on the expensive bags to look at.

Scott's system cannot really fail. If those yellow book covers came with something like "Turf Management for Idiots" it would be a perfect combo.

If you have moss, something's out of balance. I'd recommend getting the soil tested by your county extension office and they'd give you the knowlege as to what actually is out of whack.

Does that area of your lawn get enough sunlight and does it drain well?

That mossy side slopes and will be shaded when the leaves come out.
