Large, dying spots in grass, Bugs?
I have two spots in my yard about 5-10 sq/ft each that look like they are dieing. at first I thought lack of water but the spots get good coverage. Then I took a close look and it looks like they are aphid sized black bugs stuck all over the blades. Black dots/bugs either way what could this be?

Anyone know if Sevin dust would work? Cheap eperiment: Old sock with some Sevin dust, shake it over the area to dust the grass.
P.S. Not sure if this would have any effect on pets should they get in it.

Just go to your local Home Depot they should have something for chinch bugs. and dont overwater cuz this will help them grow. If the grass is dead you probably will need to replace thats patch or just reseed (will take a bit longer tho) but treat the lawn first before it spreads.

In my area we use 'nematodes' to kill off these pests.
If skunks are digging holes in your lawn, its a sure sign that cinch bugs are your problem.
I sprayed all my lawns with nematodes last year with good results and have just bought some more, as a backup.
These are living organisms and do not pollute the environment.
