i have these bush's. idk what they are, except they are kind mangy looking.
i am thinking about cutting them down, idk. perhaps trimming them will make them better looking, idk.

what do you think ?

Wel, I guess one question is whether you would like them if they responded to pruning and trimming? They are planted awfully close to the house. Do they attract insects or anything?

i trimmed em down, a lot. if they fill out, i will leave em, at least for now.
they look really mangy now, most of the leaves are gone. i do hope they fill out.

i didn't notice any more bugs than anywhere else.

My opinion..... cut them.

I think they look sort of mangy and mis-matched, and they're close to your siding/windows.

I've removed all vegetation within 3' of the house that is taller than ~3".

I'm sick of the bugs they attract and other nuisances they cause. I just pulled two stumps out of the ground this weekend that there trees/shrubs over on one side of my house... I can see that the proximity of one has allowed the window sill of a basement window to start rotting... I keep all shrubs/trees at least 4-5' from the house.

i would keep them and round them off to be say 5 siding panels high just below the windows would look cool.space between them that you can walk sideways into
