Irrigation system

In looking at an online vendor, Orbit, they recommend using poly pipe from the main zone feeds from the valve to the zones. I assume that other than the traditional black poly, one can use the newer pex pipe. If yes, Is poly the better way versus traditional PVC?

Poly is easier to use than PVC. Just unroll it and go. PEX might be overkill and expensive at larger diameters.

Don't forget about your installation labor. You can pull the poly with a ditch witch vs. digging trenches. Plus fewer fittings and less gluing.

Its a system for the MIL, her son and I will be doing. His dad was a commercial plumber and builder. Son is now in commercial building. We are the labor, planning to make quick work with a trencher.

Thanks for the input, I assumned that the poly would be way less.
