I'm doing this in my backyard

I just joined this forum to get feedback on what I'm currently working on in my back yard. Basically I'm making artificial rock, or some call it faux rock. I will tell you which website has great learning material on this in a second.

I want to start with some simple real looking boulders and add a stream with some small water falls that fall into a small pool.

You can learn how to do this on this site:

http://www.howtorockyourworld.com

Here is what I have started so far:

Water and steep slopes are asking for trouble, so make sure you have enough "structure" to hold back the wet soil and eliminate cracking.

Make sure you have a very good and thick poly barrier to keep the water where you want it and create a pool for the waterfalls.

Too close to the foundation imo, and that area will become inaccessable.
Cool idea.

I would add... whatever you decide to do, make sure you get something onto it quickly, or when the first rain storm passes through, its all going to wash back in and ruin everything around it also!

Start = Restart!

Keep posted though, I look forward to seeing the progress.

I like it! It's close enough to the deck to hear the water running when chilling outside, and I bet if you open that window you will be able to hear the water running inside as well.

and nobody else thinks that was simply a spam post?

I mean, come on guys. Statements like this:

Quote:
I will tell you which website has great learning material on this in a second.
and

Quote:
You can learn how to do this on this site:
Not, "I learned a lot from this site" or "this is an informative site" but

YOU can learn...on this site.

and the fact it costs $97 to learn it at that site didn't strike anybody as odd?

I'm wondering if has permission to use the copyrighted pictures he is, especially the stuff from Disney. They like to sue all infringers. I sure hope the guy has a license to use the pics.

Good catch Nat -

I automatically it was just an uninformed person wandering around until I saw the photo was Photo-shopped 5 years ago.
