Identify this tree?
We moved into a house last summer and this tree was already here, but was not well taken care of. I revived it until a terrible frost nearly killed it in January. It has since grown back pretty ferociously, though. I took a branch to a local nursery, and they told me it was a beech nut tree, which does not seem accurate. It seems to be growing VERY well and it loves the sun, though it did seem to have some scorched leaves in the middle of our 110+ degree summers. Last summer it also had tiny white flowers and tiny green 'berries' on it. Anyone know what kind of tree this is?
