I was wrong today..?

is my first time in this forum and I want to explain the mistake I made ... I lay mulch 650 square feet I charge only 180.00 for just labor , 5 hours dont stop and I think the price was wrong please let me know if I have to be happy or I have to be sad all weekend.

Hmmmm. $36 per hour or .28 per SF..... how do you feel? how does your client feel?

Did you do a great job? clean-up after yourself? Your not cheap...but the question is does your client feel they received fair value for their cash?

Just asking but was this around trees/shrubs, flowers, on a bank, etc? Pine straw, bark? If it was pine straw, did you roll and tuck the edges, push it under the plants but not on the trunk? How many plants did you mulch around? Ten trees with single trunks, thirty shrubs? What I'm getting at is how hard was this? For the same square foot area, I've done jobs that were easy, some were harder if you did it right.

Pine straw ballpark:
Nine square feet per bale. Seventy +/- bales Two dollars labor per bale. $140 +/-.

I don't see what you're crying about but I agree with Bob's theory. A good deal is something both parties are happy about.
If it's worth doing, it's worth doing right. If you wouldn't put your name on it, it ain't done right!
