How to get rid of green moss ?

I have a patch where it is pretty well shaded, I would like to get rid of it and reseed with some shade grass. It had grass up until a couple of years ago and the moss has slowly been taking over.
Thanks for any help
Brent

How to get rid of green moss ?

There is a product called TerraCyte that we use on golf greens to eradicate moss, works pretty good. I'm not sure its readily available to the public unless you are licensed. Basically its a form of hydrogen peroxide. Dawn dishwashing liquid will hurt moss, but not kill it. To fix that area, first try to kill all the moss, then help the drainage by aerating and even topdressing with sand, then plant a shade tolerant grass. Check your irrigation system to make sure you aren't overwatering the area.
