home-made EZ grass?

http://www.homeimprovementsdepot.com...ly-and-easily/

This looks completely sensible. Any reason this wouldn't work. I have some large bare areas I plan to cover this fall, and this looks like it would save me a huge amount of time and/or money. Any weaknesses to this plan based on experiences?

(Seems like the mixture could even be strengthened with some mushroom compost added.)

home-made EZ grass?

First of all, WOW - what a horrible site to try to read! Small black print on a dark green background?

Second, yes, what said person wrote about will work. Just remember a couple things... You get what you pay for - both in quality of grass seed, and the type of topsoil you use. If I were you, I'd get some fill dirt rather than the bagged topsoil. That stuff is so light that wind & rain will simply wash it away.

Plenty of water is always key to growing grass. You don't need to soak it constantly, but keep it moist.

Good luck!
