Holes in tree
I have a red oak only about two years old and it as two holes in it just under where the branches connect to the trunk. I noticed the holes last summer. I sprayed fruit tree spray on it (recommended by Lowes guy) which is good for just about every bug. I think the holes were created by wood borers.
The tree appears healthy. However, I am wondering if I should some how patch the holes with wood filler or something? I would like to avoid any other insects from crawling in there. Any comments appreciated. Chris |

Holes in tree
usually the stuff is for large areas when branches get broken off green in storms....
you might want to ask what they would do in your particular case. they may recommend a 'bug killer patch' or something. DM
