Help- Yellow Grass

Hi all,
I hope somebody out there can help me. I live in CT and last weekend I decided to put Scott Fertilizer with Weed killer in my lawn. I followed the instructions provided in the bag (water the lawn and then applied the fertilizer). The problem is that the next day the grass started to look yellow in many spots. I have read theories about fungus or overfertilizing. I just want to know if there are tips for how to fix what I did. Should I continue watering it as much as possible. How long should I wait until I can re-seed? Any other options out there? Does anybody have any advise as far as what is the best way to fertilize?
Thank you so much

Help- Yellow Grass

What type of grass do you have? The weed and feed can kill certain types.

Help- Yellow Grass

I am not really sure, but last year I spread Kentucky Green seeds, so most of it should be this kind.

You did the right thing if you followed the directions. Give it a little time before doing anything else. At least wait for a good rain followed by a couple of sunny days to see what happens. I have had pretty good luck with Scott's products in the past.
