Help me pick out landscape lighting
Hello everyone, I'm new to the forum. We just bought our first home and days before closing DH was laid off so we are having to at least partially DIY projects we originally hoped to have professionally done. We have so much to learn, so I'm hoping for your expertise!
This is our house. ![]() This is our landscaping sketch... ![]() And this is a picture of a lighting scheme that I love. I know my home isn't nearly impressive as the house in the photo, but this is the general lighting look I'm going for... notice how some spots are just pointed on the house. ![]() We were planning on ordering our lighting from here http://www.sunriselights.com/. What type, and what quantities of lights would you recommend we order? Are there other things we need to oder too like cords, stakes, transformers, etc? How many spots/area lights, etc would you recommend for our landscape? Also BOTH sides of the house will be landscaped (the side you can't see is similar to the side you can see in the sketch). |

Help me pick out landscape lighting
This is a tall order for an online DIY forum.
What I would suggest is that you find a manufacturer that you like and read all you can on their literature about the system. Make sure they have a good service department to help you along the way. As for placement, I suggest you get flashlights and at night go around to various locations and point them at the house to see what effects you have. Mark these for later use. Then bury your wire and then do the landscaping. For the landscaping find a good nursery that will you with advice on your project. Many of these people are on top of the latest trends and procedures for landscaping.

Help me pick out landscape lighting
your drawing and your knowledge on the names of plants .... I say you are here to teach rather than learn...
well I think you can do it all by yourself... you got the "Art" part of the landscaping which is to me much more difficult than the "Dirt" part which is actually doing the physical works.... good lucks...
