help flagstone walkway

My husband has installed a flagstone walkway in our front yard but we are having a problem. The screening is washing out at a very fast pace. We are having trouble replacing fast enough and I am not sure what to do to fix it. He continues to say we will just to constantly replace it but that sounds crazy to me. What is the best way to keep the flagstone in place? Any help would be appreciated.

Best is to either give us some pictures, or describe in detail what you did, what materials you used and what procedure you followed to do that job...we can't see.

Are you talking about the screening underneath the stones or the grout around them, or both? did you compact?

Not an expert, but if the grout is washing away it could be from lack of edging to hold it in place. Polymeric sand will harden somewhat and stay in place if you don't mind changing the look. If the base material is doing it, it could also be from lack of a hard edging as well. There could be some lawn drainage issues going on. A buried "french drain" or channel away (filled with rock and covered with fabric) might stop the damage from water. Mabye dig out a post hole and fill with rock(?). I don't know, it may require removing completely and setting higher.
