Where'd you buy it? Some bigger box stores sell plants grown in absolutely ideal conditions that can not support themselves at the lush-ness at which they were bought.

Do not fertilize anything that isn't already healthy. Fertilizer is not a cure for a sick plant.

You should not amend your soil prior to planting in most cases.

It could be too wet or too dry.

What is your soil like, sand? Clay?

How wet is the soil a couple inches down near the plant?

How often are you watering?

It is possible it is too wet. When you dig out and amended some soil around a tree, especially in clay soil, you can end up creating a soup bowl effect. Where water is held in the area around the roots and the tree drowns.

Could it have gotten dried out in the port before you planted it?

How long has it been planted? How long was it in the pot?

I would not water again, until the top couple inches of soil dry out.

I had it in the pot for a week or so but who knows how long it was there before I got it. Ill pull the mulch away from the tree to see if the soil is packed down and make sure it ia draining properly. It may of gotten dried out in the pot but I was watering it when it was potted. Thanks a lot.

I would check for pests such as mites. Go to the local nursery with a clipping to get some guidance. It might just need to be sprayed a few times.
