I have both and an electric one will work fine, there also far lighter.
We also have an electric B&D edger that works just fine.
Just do not try and save a few bucks and buy the smallest one.

the hedge is at the top right. and i may, some day, take it down. idk yet.
but i am also thinking that i may use it for some form of art = trim it out to something like a sculpture or something.

the best lawn edger I've used was a big kitchen knife.
Did a beautiful job. No gas and no batteries either.

No more gas for me. I trimmed a 70 ft. fence row of honeysuckle one side only with some branches being 5/8 inch in diameter with this B&D 32 Volt lithium battery hedger with one hand, the other holding on a 8 ft stepladder, in less than 30 minutes. ......
Same battery for string trimmer, both fine tools.

This brand is not that well known and might be a bit much for that small of a job but I used to be in the tree trimming business and we had this brand ( which I still have and use yearly almost 30 years later)
