Grapes I would hate to throw away
In my yard there is what appears to be a concord grape vine and I would hate to cut it down. I would actually like to learn a bit about them and get the vine to stretch across a fence of some sort another 30 feet or so.

I am not even sure of the class of grapes they are. I know nothing about the care of grapevines. Does anyone have any websites they could advise me of to begin educating myself on the proper care of them? I have tried searching and come up with very little. Most of what I found is about starting a vineyard and producing wine. I only want the thing to be healthy.

I'd keep the grapevine too. In my former home I planted a grapevine and used it to cover an arbor in our backyard. If your vine is already established, it's pretty easy to care for. To train it, I just waited until winter when the leaves had pretty much fallen off, and then cut off the branches which were going the wrong way. In the Spring, new shoots come out and expand the existing branches. The main thing you have to worry about with grapevines in fungus or powdery mildew. It can be controlled my not overwatering and using a fungicide periodically. The grapes themselves do best if they are stressed ie minimal water, minimal fertilizer, maximum sun, but if you are looking for foliage growth, then it's the opposite. You can go here for more info about concord grapes.
