Get rid of rabbits

Any recommendations for getting rid of rabbits. I live in a city near a park and we have a ton of rabbits.

Are they causing any harm? If so, do hire a trapper. But if you live next to a park? Should you not just learn to co-exist? Seems like you will be at this endlessly.

I moved a couple years ago and live on a park most days. In the "urban forest" I moved from rabbits were everwhere. I actually don't see so many here. Need a goose? Or a squirrel? I know people that would gladly send you a box of squirrels like a brilliant University of Illinois introduced to the environment.

What is your budget like? You could buy an outdoor project theater system and loop the scene from "Fatal Atraction" for them to watch. Gives me the creeps to this day and I am not a rabbit.

Get rid of rabbits

Why would you want to get rid of rabbits? They are the most harmless animal.

And if you absolutely HATE nature and feel you must rid yourself of these most invasive predators you can try this:

Soak some rags in ammonia

Tie to stakes and place on the 4 corners of your lot

Apparently works for skunks as well

OR

go to your local animal sanctuary or zoo and get some tiger or bear deposits. That will do it

Why don't you send Brian a couple of rabbit traps... and your address?

Get a dog. My dogs kill over a dozen rabbits a year in my back yard.

I just sit on my deck and watch the occasional hawk take a few rabbits and squirrels to keep them in line.

They can maneuver between the trees and even under the wire that supports some bird feeders. It is amazing to watch them soar and then lock on and then make a kill to keep everyone happy.

It would really help if you indicated what harm the rabbits are doing to your property. Since you live near a park, killing them will be a never ending chore. You could buy repellant. I think fox urine might work. Or you could feed a few friendly feral cats in your yard as I do. My ferals won't attack other animals as far as I can tell but their presence has scared off groundhogs, squirrlels, and chipmunks. They would probably chase rabbits but would not know what to do if they caught one. Interestingly enough, raccoons and possums ignore the cats and the cats are wise enough not to pick a fight with them.

Seems like a fence would be a good solution. Fron the cite offered by RoofContractor it only has be be 24 inches above ground and 8 inches below. Unless your property is the size of the Ponderosa, this is the route I would choose.
