My boys always had garder snakes as pets growing up, I use to buy
them in the pet store...they are friendly and cute...it is natural to
see them in your yard.

Your kids will learn from you, when you see one,
name it, say, "there goes 'ten bears' he's on a critter hunt!"

Same thing with your family and friends at your
barbaques, warn them that you
have free roaming garter snakes, and 'ten bears' is the
leader and head of quality control...and if their lucky
he'll make an appearance today!

Really they are cute, I wish I had a few in our yard, sunning themselves
on a rock by our pond, that would be so cool.
