Full shade grass

Anyone have any suggestions for grass that grows well in shade. I have a huge tree in my front yard that shades most of the yard. Im going to plant some ground cover around the tree. I also have a dogwood that shades some of the other areas of the yard.

I live in greenville SC, where a burmuda would work well if I had full sun, but Im not sure what grass would work best with lots of shade.

I have just graded my yard so that the water will run away from the house and now need to plant grass seed. It is going to be 80 here all week so I was hoping to get it down so it will start growing.

Thanks for any advice.

Generally speaking, it's discouraged to attempt to grow grass around a huge shade tree. Not only will the tree rob the grass of sunlight, but it will also rob the grass of water.

I think before trying to grow grass, you might want to hire an arborist to prune your tree to see how much sunlight you can get through, and go from there.
