fence posts + roots = ?

i am starting my research on a fence i plan to install.

i believe there are a lot of roots where i need to go. i can get an auger, but i don't know how well they go through roots. i am thinking = not well, or even at all. i hope i am wrong. what should i do ?

thanx

Any hand held auger will take you for a ride of it comes in contact with a root.
Concider having them dug by a piece of equipment with an auger attached to it. Most rental companys or even Home Depot will have one.
We just dug over 100 holes and set the post in one day using a Dingo with an auger attachment. The whole back yard was full of roots and it just ripped right through them.

Keep a Sawsall handy--with a long blade---best thing I've found for clipping roots out of a post hole--

Confused. If you're hiring a pro to do the job why worry about what type of auger you can hook up to tour truck??
